We think that education can! Or, more precisely, the learning process itself.
As we found out from an article in The Guardian, “Pupils do better at school if teachers are not fixated on test results.” This statement is based upon a study conducted by the Institute of Education, London.
They concluded that “Pupils show greater motivation, are better behaved and are more likely to be independent and strategic thinkers when teachers are not obsessed by grades.”
We suppose that free online games for kids are extremely popular not only for their graphics, or plot, or the ease with which they persuade us to use them during our leisure time. It looks like that in children’s games, youngsters experience curiosity and enthusiasm, which seem to have dropped out of some classrooms. Not too shabby! Aren’t games made to patch the gaps in the educational system’s approach to learning?
Isn’t it time to turn school into a place at least as cool as game websites for kids? Let’s fill classrooms with what kids pick up from Flash games for kids: curiosity, self-awareness, excitement, a passion for learning, and self-confidence.
