Driving Kids keeps seeking people who share its ideas! Earlier we found Naomi Alderman, a games writer who recognizes the educational potential of kids’ online games. Now we would like you to meet Linda Salzman, manager of the Children’s Service Society at the Wausau Family Resource Center (Wisconsin, USA).
“Play allows children to learn how to work in groups, to listen to and follow directions, to share, to negotiate, to resolve conflicts and to learn self-help skills,” she writes in her article “Child’s play: an important part of learning” in The Wausau Daily Herald.
The center where Linda Salzman works offers parents and other caregivers the chance to join the “Play and Learn” free weekly program “to get together while participating in fun play activities with their children.”
Are there similar free programs in your city or state? Do you attend them? Do you regard this activity as fun and educational for kids and parents? Please join the Driving Kids community and contribute this useful info!
