Driving Kids does everything it can for peace in every family. So today we have only news which will please old and young alike.
Parents, you now have a very convincing reason to protect your child from sweets – not as a punishment for going to bed too late, but as a necessary remedy against high sugar. Because if your child sleeps 8 hours or less, you should be ready to take extra care of his or her health…
While a kid’s mood may suffer and eyelids droop through not getting enough sleep, blood sugar may rise for the same reason as well, new research suggests.
”Young children may be more apt to have high blood sugar, a precursor to diabetes, if they average 8 hours or less of sleep a night, report Chinese and American researchers,” according to the Reuters Health article “Less sleep for kids may mean higher blood sugar”.
But this news is actually good for kids too! Boys and girls, cheer up! Because now you have an extremely important and definitive reason to stay in bed as long as you wish… so, sleepyheads, fluff up your pillows!
